Happy Valentines

As usual, we’re going to have a date this heart’s day via Skype. I already understand and I’m kind of used to the fact that we’re going to have our first Skype-Valentines-day-date.

I prepared our room, cooked his favorite food, wore my favorite dress and of course, logged on to Skype.
I didn’t know what topics we are going to talk about this time. We always talk about everything when we are with each other.  Be it about his pets, his masters degree, my job, his job, everything.

We agreed that we’re going to meet online at 7:30, Philippine time. After work, I rushed home to prepare what needs to be prepared more.

I was excited when I logged in, but I was surprised that he wasn’t there. I was thinking maybe, he’s late, so I waited for him. 15 minutes passed and he was not logged in yet. I decided to send him a message in Facebook. But he still didn’t reply.

To my boringness, I just browsed through the different accounts of my friends, looked at their pictures and read their statuses that say they had the best Valentine’s day ever –and I was jealous!

I wanted to have the best February 14 of my life, too. But my boyfriend is not here and he didn’t even showed up on our Skype date.

8pm, I was starting to feel sad and mad at the same time. I logged out of Skype, turned my computer off, put the food in the fridge, changed to house clothes and prepared to sleep. I was sad, and I was mad.

I was already in bed when my boyfriend’s mom sent me a text message. She told me to go out because they were outside.

I jumped out of the bed and went outside rushing. When I opened the door, I saw a tall man with a smile in his face and presents in his hands, it was my boyfriend, fresh from Australia.

I could see the happiness in his eyes when he saw me astonished. I was in tears when I greeted him. I didn’t expect him to be here with me this Valentine’s Day.

When we got inside our house, I was even mad at him because he didn’t tell me that he was going to be here for Valentines so at least I would have prepared for it. And at least he didn’t see me looking like a zombie instead.
We got nothing to eat because all the food I have prepared was put in the fridge prior to his arrival.

He just smiled and said that if he will tell me that he’ll be coming here, he would’ve spoiled the surprise. He wanted to surprise me this Valentines, so, he came home and bought all the things I wanted to have.

He handed me the bouquet of tulips first, and then a paper bag containing the bag I once told him that I will buy on my next salary. Then, another gift was a pair of shoes that I showed him when we were browsing the net and lastly, a necklace which I didn’t know he’ll give –what a sweet gesture, lovey!

After that, I stood up and went to our room, got the present s I had for him and went outside to give it to him. I bought him the pair of sunglasses, a new ball and a new bag. He was also surprised that I had prepared some gifts for him.

He apologized because he let me wait for a long time just to celebrate this momentous day. His flight was delayed because the airplane had to gas up.

I asked him about his remaining 2 months in Australia, he said it’s okay, that he already talked to his parents about it and that he is so bored there –he was not that close to his dear cousins.

So, after that, we kissed good night and slept sweetly.

Indeed, it was the best Valentine’s day of my life. I love you, babe!
